Rinjani Trekking Club is based in senaru, Bayan – North of Lombok, province of West Nusa Tenggara. This is a Trekking club for all Porters and Trekking guides for RinjaniNasionalPark.
We are the only Rinjani Trekking club in Senaru – Lombok,
It’s established in 1989 with 10 member (porter and Trekking Guide) and now with member over 100 Porter and Trekking Guide. Since Mt.Rinjani became a major tourist destination in Lombok, Rinjani Trekking club grew bigger and now based in Segara Anak Travel Lodge of Senaru under PT. Wannen Wisata Tour’s and Travel as Organizer. Rinjani National Park one of most famous National Park in Indonesia. There over 20 villages live arround Mt.Rinjani and there are many routes up the mountain, but the main access is from Senaru in the north and Sembalun Lawang to the east.
Rinjani Adventure
A. Top Program 3 Days/ 2 Night
Day 1:
Leave from senggigi/hotel at 6 am. Approx 3 hours drive to Sembalun throught beautiful landscape north of Lombok. Appox 4 hours trek from Sembalun to pos III, than another 2 hours trek to the im, we will rriv at the Rimby sunset. At 3 am start is necessary for the hard three hours climb to the summit (3.726 m) on volcanic scree. Once three, enjoy pround feeling of statisfaction and amazing sunrise views across the Wallace line to Bali Mt. Agung and Sumbawa and down the lakeSegara Anak (2000 m) within the Rinjani crater.
Day 2:
It takes two-three hours down the steep trail to the creater lake and day 2 camp. The rest of the day spent relaxing, swimming in the lake and exploring the caves and pilgrimage hot spring. Climb up to Plawangan Senaru to reach the unset and spent the night.
Day 3:
Easy walk down from the lake to Plawangan rim and last day walk down to Senaru approx. 5 hours and that’s the end of challenging.
B. LakeProgram 3 Days/ 2 Night
Day 1:
Leave the hotel at 06.00 am, driving during 2 hours to Senaru, the trek start by 10.00 am, for 2 hours trek up post II through thick tropical forest in flora bird life and variety of butterflies. It takes another 2 hours trek to pos III and 1 hours trek to Plawangan to reach beautiful sunset.
Day 2:
Beautiful sunrise we will enjoy breakfast before trek down to the lake it tekes 2 hours trek. We will spent the day enjoying swimming, fishing and hot spring water and lake.
Day 3:
Easy walk down to base camp after spen second night in Plawangan it takes about 4 hours to Senaru base camp.
C. 2 Days/ 1 Night Creater Rim
Day 1:
First hours of the trek climb steadily through the tropical forest reach in flora, bird life, and variety of buterflies. Depending on your preference an weather conditions, the nigt camp is made either in the forest of post III. (2000 m) after about 5 hours climbing from Senaru or continue for another couple of hours through grassy meadows to Plawangan 1 creater rim at 2.641 m.
Day 2:
Sunrise at the creater rim is a memorable start to day 2. Two hours trek down to post III. After enjoying the view, descent down the trail down to Senaru Villige.

GILIISLAND
The Gili islands is a popular destination in Indonesia. Gili Islands located in the north west of Lombok, featuring three small, coral fringed islands; Gili Air, Gili Meno, & Gili Trawangan – each with superb, white sandy beaches, clear water, coral reefs, brilliantly coloured fish and the best snorkeling on Lombok. Visitors, especially young Eropean are attracted to the simple pleasures of sun, snorkeling, beautiful beaches, and socialzing. The absense of cars, motorcycles, and hawkers adds greatly to the leasure of staying on the Gilis. “Gili islands” is not the local name. Gili actually means small island and three are lots of other gili’s around Lombok.
SENGGIGI
Senggigi is the most developed area for tourists on Lombok. You can find a variety of restaurants, bars, discotheques, travel agents, photo processors, money changers, souvenir shop and a range of accommodations starting from budget guest house to 5 star hotels. Restaurants and small cafes line the colorful main beach road. Swimming off the beach is safe. Most visitors to Lombok usually start their stay at Senggigi, Lombok’s oldest and most famous resort area.
KUTA LOMBOK
Kuta, Lombok is famous for the incredibly beautiful beach. When the tide is low the bay turn into shallow water pool and the color of the water turns into turquoise. You can see the photo of the beach at the many internet cafes in indonesia. Look for the wall paper on the computer screen. Coast of Lombok is also famous for the high waves. Also Kuta is a good base for the surfers.
MATARAM
The administrative capital of the Province Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB). Public buildings, banks, post office, general hospitals and shopping malls are found here. A part of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) province, Mataram is the capital and main city of lombok. It includes the port town of Ampenan, the towns of Mataram and Cakranegara.
As a center of government administration, Mataram has many large, impressive public buildings and substantial houses. The main square is used for art exhibitions, theater, dance, and wayang kulit (puppet theater) performances. In other parts of Mataram, there are a variety of old-style markets and neighborhoods featuring traditional craftwork like basketware and gold and silver-threaded sarongs, or wraparound garments.
The port of Ampenan was once Lombok’s main port, but it now relies mostly on fishing vessels. Cakranegara has significant Balinese and Chinese population, the chinese having been brought by the Dutch to provide cheap labor.
1.Do not let the local porters carry your bags for whatever reason. This guys are usually try to be gentle or act like a boatman crew. They often charge an expensive and unreasonable amount. If you have to pay, a regular porter cost is about Rp. 1000-2000/bag.
2.Do not buy any mosquitoes coil from some kids at the harbor, as they are trying to sell things at the highest they can. There are lots of shops on the Islands selling those stuffs with better prices.
3.Do not try any to look at the things that they offers, and do not make any promises to say “maybe later”. Those guys can recognize your face and ask for the promises.
4.When you returned from the Islands, many kids brings water to wash your foot. At first you may fell convenient, but at the end they ask some school needs i.e: pens, or writing book. It’s better not to let them do anything to you.
5.Carry small changes to pay public buses or taxi. Call the taxi operator: 627000 (Lombok taxi) if you need to be picked up. If you have to go by private car, try to fix the price first rather than argue at the end of the journey.
6.stonefish are found on the coral reefs where they are camouflaged and almost invisible. They are poisonous if stepped on.
7.Also, be aware of strong currents while swimming or snorkeling. It is best to ask the advice of a dive master before swimming alone.
8.Jelly fish is almost invisible on the water. It looks like a crystal/plastic, but very dangerous. Some kind of jelly fish is making your skin itchy, and some are poisoning.
9.Use a high protection of Sun Cream. The weather can be very hot onthe afternoon.
10.Do not leave any valuable belongings unattended at the beach while swimming or snorkeling. Ask for a deposit box at the hotel where you stay.
